Found a Gem in the Mountains.

Such a pleasant place to stay. Beautiful view, trout pond, fireplace, hiking trails, wildlife, wild berries growing around the fence posts and along the trails (reminded of my youth in Florida).

If you are looking for a place to stay, whether you are traveling by car, motorcycle, RV, THIS IS THE PLACE!!! Immediately feel like family. Country store and diner, with April taking care of the store and diner (Biscuits and gravy to die for) Mr. Don Oakes, the owner, there to greet you and make you feel at home.

They have a tree house that should be finished now, Kelly and I are looking forward to staying in it soon. Tent sites available, too, with a pavilion and showers. Kelly and I wanted to just stay there forever. We stayed in the lodge and it took me back to childhood days (except there's electricity, plumbing...and of course, WIFI!!!!

Thank you, Don and April, hope to see you again soon.

Awesome Place and Awesome Staff

My wife and I went up camping this past weekend and stayed in a campground in the national forest. We drove down to the store a few times to get ice and such and the folks in the store were very nice and helpful.

We were not even staying in their campground and after we got skunked all weekend trout fishing in the creeks they let us fish their pond and made sure we had a great time. We even ended up catching a nice size trout and lost a couple others.

After we finished fishing we drove through the facilities to check them out and we were very pleased with what we saw. Next time we go back to the mountains we are going to make plans to stay here as we were very pleased with the way we were treated even as non-campers.

I would highly recommend this place to anyone that is planning a trip to this area.

Hidden Gem in the North Ga Mtns.

We spent a week in a motorhome here from July 17 to the 24th 2014. The girls in the store were great. They were by far the most friendly of all our stops this trip. It's a work in progress rv park but they have done a great job so far.

It had the best WiFi of any place we have stayed. Great launching place for most of the sites in North Ga.

Quiet and relaxing. Will definitely return.

Welcome to Paradise

Those were the first words shared with us from Mr. Oakes as he greeted our returning group.

What a treat it was to camp above the valley and enjoy the cool breeze, the view and the hospitality from everyone at Wildcat. Each and every detail was attended to.
Everything was clean and in good working order.

Be sure to stop in The Store and look around. April will be cooking a pizza and she may just have a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit waiting for you.
Wildcat is a great place run by great people.

We'll be back soon.

Our sincere Thanks to April and Donald Oakes for their kindnesses in making our trip all that we hoped for.

What a great place! I have stayed in many campgrounds in the GA/NC/TN mountains and man, this was the best of the best.

April is a great cook and super person, the campsites were excellent with a wonderful view, the bath house had hot water and multiple shower and toilet stalls, there was even a washer and dryer.

I didn't use the pavilion but it is big enough for a good sized party or rally complete with electric and plumbing.

The surrounding mountains are perhaps the best dual sport riding in the whole entire area!
Wildcat Suches is the destination of choice if you want great riding, beautiful setting and friendly staff.

What a great place to have a rally!

Camping for the RV set, tenters and all in between, even indoor living is available. Great food at the lodge, best roads in the southeast everywhere and glorious Forest Service roads almost right behind the place.

The pavilion is large and has facilities for food and such. It's also nice to not be a place that is accommodating to motorcycles but really caters to us without irritating the "regular" camping types.

We had our rally there in 2013 and will this year and for how ever many years they'll have us. What can you say, it really has what you need for a large group to camp, ride and even party a little. Oh, for the geeks, you can get in the internet from your tent...

Dear Wildcat Staff, I can't thank you enough or find enough adjectives to describe the experience that our group just had at the Wildcat Campground.

Winter camping in the north Georgia mountains can be a hit or miss affair --- but not if you're at Wildcat!

The large covered dining area, comfortable and nicely-equipped bath-house, well-designed gravel roads, and great location all contributed for the perfect blend of country and convenience.

Your small family-style operation was able to roll out the red carpet at the last minute to accommodate our group of 80+ campers. With all of our needs met, including wifi, firewood, electrical power, and large grill, we were able to concentrate on fun. The kids especially had a good time.

We will certainly return to your location and tell our family and friends about you.

Sincerely, Bill "Hilldweller" Pearlman SouthEast Expedition Society

Every one and every thing about The Wildcat was great.

The three of us that camped were very pleased with the tent area and the breakfast each morning was a great way to start out motorcycle adventures on the Forest Service roads.

We talked to several other motorcyclist as we traveled and bragged about The Wildcat Lodge.

Thanks again, Belson Jones, Abbeville, SC

Wildcat is not your average campground!

Here is a small, locally-run operation offering more than you could hope for! The owner and staff hold your satisfaction in high regard, and it shows in the way they offer great service and amenities at a very reasonable rate, with a smile.
You will not feel like you are just another customer here, you will feel like you've found a peaceful place to pitch your tent or park your RV where you are welcome and wanted!

The view is fantastic from everywhere on the grounds, and the amenities like a large clean bathhouse, outdoor covered seating and gathering area, and nearby well-equipped country store with diner make Wildcat ideal for all kinds of campers, even large groups like ours. Almost 100 of us were in attendance.

My group was thrilled with Wildcat. We are already making plans to return next year!

My wife, and I, vacationed from May 29,2012 through June 3, 2012 at Wildcat Campground on Hwy 60 in Suches, GA.

We found the campground to be everything advertised. It was a great place to camp, and the staff could not have been any more helpful.

For anyone wanting to camp out in the mountains, I would recommend Wildcat Campgrounds. My wife and I really enjoyed ourselves.

Thanks for making our Spring Outing a great success.

You guys treated us like family. You have a great beginning, success will surely follow. My sincere appreciation to Mr. Oakes. You made us feel at home. Great hospitality. Great place.

On behalf of our entire group, we had a terrific time at Wildcat Campgrounds, Store and Diner.

Our Mission

The land on which Wildcat Lodge and Campground are now situated was donated by Eva Frazier.
Her wish was to give back to the community and to bring jobs to this beautiful part of North Georgia.

Our mission is to honor that wish, and to create a first-class destination for those wishing to spend time enjoying the many attractions, activities, and the boundless beauty the mountains, and their surrounding areas, have to offer.
